Raise the Roof Walk Nets $5,000 for Local Charity

Remembering Katie one step at a time ...

On October 11, 2008 we held a walk-a-thon at Beech Acres Park.  The proceeds of this event went to the Beechmont Stables Rescue Equi-Kids Program.  This program provides horsback riding for children with handicaps, underpriviledged children, volunteers and scouts. 

We were able to give them $5,000 toward their mission, thanks to all of our walkers and generous sponsors!

UPDATE: The funds raised by the Katie Haumesser Foundation could not cover the cost to construct the roof for the arena.  Instead the money was used to enhance arena safety by adding sand, replacing and expanding the fencing, and creating a rock access road.  These updates will improve Beechmont Stables and continue to help the children that attend the Equi-Kids Program.
