Outstanding Service Award
The 2011 Outstanding Service Award was presented to Julia Ann Smith for her vision and devotion to serving children and families affected by autism. Among many wonderful things, Julia founded Families with ASD (www.familieswithasd.org).
We also awarded honorable mentions to Kim Shepler and Beth Flanigan for their continued commitment to children.
The Foundation is seeking nominees for 2012 who have provided outstanding service or who have made a significant contribution to the community in areas that serve children. The successful candidate will be honored at the event with a special presentation and award. Nominees must exemplify the love of caring for or about children; demonstrate exceptional commitment, service, or leadership; be of strong moral character; and serve as a role model for others in the community and “lead by example.” Information about the upcoming event can be found on the event tab or by calling 513-602-3763. Applications will be accepted through 2012.
Since its inception, the Katie Haumesser Foundation has raised and donated over $74,000 in Katie’s memory. Its mission is to support the causes that Katie believed in: raising awareness of issues that affect children with special needs, providing financial support for programs serving children with special needs, and providing academic scholarships to students entering the field of Speech Language Pathology.
