In February 2006, Kathryn Angela Haumesser, just 27 years old, was tragically killed by a drunk driver.
Her daughter, Emma, was seriously injured in the accident, recovering only after many weeks in the hospital. The Katie Haumesser Foundation formed in the months following the tragedy, to honor Katie’s memory and to continue her life’s work. Now fully recovered, Emma actively participates in all foundation activities and cherishes shared memories of her mother. The Katie Haumesser Foundation is dedicated to continuing the legacy of Katie’s life, by providing assistance to children with special needs, and sponsoring scholarships for graduate students in speech and language pathology. The foundation raises funds from community sponsors (many thanks!), and by holding several events throughout the year. We hope to see you at one soon!
